The PYP

Inquiry-Driven Learning

The IB Primary Years Programme focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. Students learn through structured inquiry within transdisciplinary themes, developing academic skills alongside the attributes of the IB Learner Profile.

Our Primary School students engage with meaningful content, develop conceptual understanding, and build essential skills for lifelong learning.

Transdisciplinary Themes

Learning is organized around six transdisciplinary themes that provide a framework for exploration.

Who We Are

An inquiry into the nature of the self; beliefs and values; personal, physical, mental, social and spiritual health.

Where We Are in Place and Time

An inquiry into orientation in place and time; personal histories; the discoveries and migrations of humankind.

How We Express Ourselves

An inquiry into the ways in which we discover and express ideas, feelings, nature, culture, and beliefs.

How the World Works

An inquiry into the natural world and its laws; the interaction between the natural world and human societies.

How We Organize Ourselves

An inquiry into the interconnectedness of human-made systems and communities.

Sharing the Planet

An inquiry into rights and responsibilities in the struggle to share finite resources.

PYP Exhibition presentation

Grade 5 Capstone

The PYP Exhibition

In Grade 5, students undertake the PYP Exhibition—a collaborative, transdisciplinary inquiry process that involves students identifying, investigating, and proposing solutions to real-world issues.

The Exhibition demonstrates student agency and celebrates the culmination of their PYP journey, showcasing their growth as learners and inquirers.
